Suppliments and Other Aides

Just wondering if there's anything out there that could be recommended to help my body promote weight loss, currently I'm taking an Omega-3 pill from GNC, and also the GNC Multi-vitamin for men....I know the multi probably is the best way to go for getting vitamins and minerals but it's better then nothing from what I can see.

After work-outs should I be taking a protein powder? I've been told this by some of my friends, they've also said I should go get an ECA stack to help my body increase it's metabolism and I believe they said it's also a thermogenic. For those who don't know what an ECA stack is look here ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECA_stack

Looking for recommendations and comments on this post. Anything would be beneficial!

Thanks for the read =).

  1. Don't worry too much about supplements. Stick with the vitamins and Omega-3, and focus on calories in vs calories out. Protein powder is nice if you're unable to get protein by conventional means.

  2. Okay this is my first day reading this and I also have the same philosophy as the writer. I did something really similar and in one month lost 33 pounds and 2 inches off my waist and am still in great shape. another thing to promote weight loss with this diet is to drink as close to 2 gallons of water a day as you can. Most people crave salty and sweet snacks because there body is dehydrated and trying to fill the void from lack of water. Lastly for weight loss don't eat anything within 2 hours before going to bed at night and this has worked for me. Starting weight was 240 now 192 in 2 and a half months and this puts me down to a new weight class for fighting MMA and I am still just as strong as I was so I am stoked. Good luck.

  3. If u want to jump start your metabolism drink a glass of water shortly after you get up, and eat an apple in the morning they have proven an apple will help burn free floating fatty acids. Protean powder will help your muscle recovery but make sure you get a low calorie product. Also try not to eat too close to your work-outs so your body has less food energy and has to burn your fat reserves in order to keep supplying your body with energy. It's easy to get caught up in products but just keep in mind the basic building blocks for your body to make muscle is complex proteins, amino acids. Also, to burn fat low slow cardio is not the way to go interval training is the most effective.

  4. indeed...the reason for the glass of water upon waking is because your body is basically dehydrated from sleep. you should also eat your breakfast within 30 mins of waking.

  5. Try taking these four supplements 4 times daily:

    Before breakfast
    Alpha Lipoic Acid 100-300mg
    Allicin Garlic
    EGCG Green tea extract

    Before Lunch
    Alpha Lipoic Acid
    Garlic
    EGCG Green tea extract

    Before Dinner
    Alpha Lipoic Acid
    Garlic
    EGCG Green tea extract

    Before Bed
    Alpha Lipoic Acid
    Garlic
    EGCG Green tea extract
    Policosanol

They will help your body move glucose toward your muscles rather than fat cells.

  6. You dont have to take a thermogenic. Its just basically a caffeine pill. One cheap way to avoid this is to drink coffee or green tea 30 minutes before your workout. Eat as much tuna as possible and protein should be take 30 minutes right after. I would avoid protein powder such as muscle milk because of the high carbs, sugar, and calories. Instead i would take ON Protein

  7. Forget about thinning supplements for now (though Tim Ferris' advice is sound) - they're good if you're already buff and really looking to drop down to 3-4% body fat, but that's obviously not your case... yet. ;-)

Since you'll be switching to a healthier food diet, my guess is you won't be needing supplements - there's more vitamins, minerals et al. in fruit than pizza.

Drink LOTS of water - NOT 2 gallons as I read above (that'll only enlarge your stomach and make you feel hungry more often), but 2-3 litres every day, and add another litre to that on days when you work out.

Other than that, well... focus your workouts on cardio, you'll have plenty of time to push weights and get buff once you've shed some fat. Walk, cycle, step or whatever for 1 hour or more, but make sure your heart rate stays between 110-130 bpm (use a heartrate monitor for that) - that's where you'll get the best results. Over 130 bpm, you're going to put too much pressure on your heart and you'll be drawing energy from your muscles, rather than your fat.

  9. Good day, You're on the right track with the supplements, keep it up. You might also want to do some research on L-Argenine, it boost the metabolism which helps to burn fat. But always check with your doctor to see if it's ok for you. If you can. Check out Myselfselfhelp.blogspot.com too, it helps.

  10. Hey dude I've been working out for about 3 years now and the best advice I can give you is INTERVAL RUNNING. Walk at a reasonable pace for 3 minutes. Then bring it up to a jog for 2 minutes then a sprint for 2 minutes. Then go back down for a jog for 2 minutes and then sprint for 2 minutes. Repeat that until you reach 20-25 minutes on the treadmill and I promise you will lose weight with the right diet. I went from being really skinny, to adding a lot of weight because I wanted to gain muscle and then decided to cut all the extra fat off afterwards. This worked wonders for me and its what body builders do before competitions to get more cut. I've never seen it not work for someone so give it a try.

  13. Try a cellular cleanse. I'm a big fan of really cleansing before a diet change to help your body really absorb the new foods. Isagenix is really great. You might look into it.

  14. Raspberry ketones are said to shrink fat cells and speed metabolism. Some people swear by them.

    1. I have heard the same about raspberry ketones. Just make sure you are getting them from a reputable source (GNC. The Vitamin Shoppe, Etc.) it limits the risk of buying a knock off product online.

  16. Hi .. My name is Miss Surbhi Kapur. I am doing my 3rd year fashion designing . I am always fascinated to watch sexy models. Specially sexy buttocks. I am always feeling happy and proud to be a girl. And luckily my buttock is very huge and hot. Honestly speaking , I feel great and proud when Boys and girls start praising about my huge buttock.... ... No doubt girls are lucky having huge buttocks...... can draw the attention of Boys. The truth is that , when I was studying in 1st year , a Hand some Boy became mad I mean He became totally mad seeing my sexy huge buttock. Believe me He adored my Buttock in such a way that ultimately we became very close friend. But his intention was to enjoy annal sex with me. I also wanted to taste the pleasure of annal sex. We enjoyed almost 5 months... For me those days were so enjoyable and lovable ...really I can not speak in ward. And certainly that is the reason teenager are always eager to enjoy anal sex than any other form of sex... they simply loves anal sex..... BUT my Boy friend has gone abroad for higher study....
